The Department of Environment of the Ionian University participates in the ERASMUS PLUS (Erasmus+) Programme and, through it, also the Postgraduate Study Programmes that it offers either independently or as the coordinating department. Students are given the opportunity to study for 1–2 semesters at universities within the European Union and to benefit from study subjects offered at foreign universities, language learning, knowledge of culture, etc. In this way, students of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Programme (PSP) “New Technologies for Environmental Education and Sustainable Development” have the opportunity to acquire a high level of specialization, a broad perspective, and international experience—elements that will be useful in their future professional and/or academic career.

Overall, the Department of Environment of the Ionian University participates in the ERASMUS+ Programme through the following activities:

  • Mobility of teaching staff for teaching/training
  • Mobility of administrative staff for training
  • Student mobility for studies
  • Student mobility for traineeships (internships)

The study period abroad is fully recognized. Mobility may involve attending a course module, preparing the postgraduate thesis, or undertaking a traineeship. Students select courses with a workload (ECTS) equivalent to those they would have in the PSP during the corresponding semester and are required to attend courses at the host university and participate in examinations. Courses that are successfully completed are recognized and replace corresponding courses of the IPSP through the transfer of credit units (ECTS), based on the national framework and the Postgraduate Study Programme.

Requirements for participation in the Erasmus+ mobility programme

Applicants must be duly enrolled in the IPSP “New Technologies for Environmental Education and Sustainable Development.”

Regarding language proficiency, the required language(s) and level are set at a minimum of B1 for the language(s) required by the host institution, unless otherwise specified by the host institution.

The candidate must demonstrate strong motivation to participate in the Programme.

Priority is given to applications from students participating in the programme for the first time.
