Student Admission & Registration

Admission to the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Programme (IPPP) is carried out through an annual call for applications, published during the spring semester of the preceding academic year. Detailed information regarding eligibility requirements, selection procedures and criteria is included in the Internal Operating Regulation of the Programme, available on the official website.

Successful candidates are informed via the Programme website and personal email. Upon registration, students receive an institutional email account, which provides access to all electronic services of the Ionian University, including the Ionio Open eClass platform.

Duration and Structure of Studies

The IPPP “New Technologies for Environmental Education and Sustainable Development” is structured over two academic semesters of coursework, followed by a third semester dedicated to the Master’s thesis and internship. The maximum duration of studies is three (3) years.

Courses are delivered mainly through distance learning (90%). Laboratory sessions, where required, are conducted with physical presence at the Department of Environment in Zakynthos during selected weekends.

Academic Calendar

The academic year consists of a winter and a spring semester, followed by examination periods and a resit period in September. Exact dates are determined annually by the University Senate and published on the University and Programme websites.

Course Declaration & Attendance

Students must declare their courses electronically at the beginning of each semester. Participation in examinations is permitted only for declared courses. Attendance is mandatory.

Tuition Fees & Financial Support

The total tuition fee amounts to €1,900, payable either in a lump sum or in installments. Fees are non-refundable in case of withdrawal.

Up to 30% of students may be exempted from tuition fees according to current legislation. A merit-based scholarship (tuition fee exemption of €800) may be awarded to the top-performing student after the first semester.

Assessment & Degree Award

The minimum passing grade is 5.0 (on a scale of 0–10). The Programme requires the completion of 90 ECTS credits. The final degree grade is calculated based on coursework and the Master’s thesis, with increased weight assigned to the thesis.

Quality Assurance

Courses and instructors are evaluated each semester by students through anonymous electronic questionnaires, under the supervision of the University Quality Assurance Unit.

Support & Communication

All announcements, schedules and academic information are published on the Programme website. Students may also contact the Secretariat via email or telephone for administrative support.
