The Architectonics of Writing
Writing is a carefully constructed system shaped by its foundations (idea, image, memory, voice, argument), its materials (language, form, syntax, sound) and the craft that brings them together. Focusing primarily on poetry, the workshop explores principles also relevant to prose, creative nonfiction and critical writing. Participants will examine how meaning emerges through the interplay of text, subtext and paratext, and consider writing as both an architectural structure and a rhizomatic network of interconnected meanings, drawing on the work of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari.
