PreServe members pioneered the creation of the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program “Preservation & Management of Cultural Heritage” , https://envi.ionio.gr/preserv-ch/ , which was designed by faculty staff at the Department of Environment and the Department of Archives, Library and Museology of the Ionian University, and it is directed by Associate Professor Ch. Karydis.
Since 2020 , it has substantially contributed to the education of graduates in Greece, with a significant number of PG Dissertations, covering critical fields such as the following:
Understanding the energy needs of a museum . The energy footprint of archaeological iron conservation methods. Sustainable conservation practices in Greece. Materials and waste management in conservation laboratories.
Condition survey and restoration proposals . Various case studies, such as The Lion of Amphipolis , the frescoes of the Holy Monastery of Agioi Anargyroi Kleidoniavista , a 19th century Greek flag from a private collection, a carved wooden chest from the 18th century from a folklore museum, etc.
Identification of materials and construction techniques with non-destructive methods such as in paintings by Fotis Kontoglou in Laconia
Design and promotion of Educational Programs for the Conservation and Preservation of Cultural Documents.
