The mission of the Research Laboratories is to promote scientific research (basic and applied), with emphasis on excellence, as well as to support teaching in the subjects-areas that each laboratory focuses on. There are five (5) formally established research laboratories (via publication in the Government Gazette) that operate in the Department of Environment.
