The Department of Environment of the Ionian University participates in the ERASMUS+ Programme, through which the postgraduate programmes it offers—either independently or as the coordinating institution—also take part. Students are given the opportunity to study for one or two semesters at universities within the European Union and to benefit from academic subjects offered abroad, language learning, exposure to different cultures, and related experiences. In this way, students of the MSc “Preservation & Management of Cultural Heritage” have the opportunity to acquire advanced specialization, broadened perspectives, and international experience—assets that will prove valuable in their subsequent professional and/or academic careers.

The period of study abroad is fully recognized. Mobility may involve attendance of coursework, preparation of the master’s thesis, or participation in traineeships. Students select courses with an equivalent workload (ECTS credits) to those they would normally take in the MSc during the respective semester and are required to attend classes at the host university and participate in examinations. Courses successfully completed are fully recognized and substitute corresponding courses of the MSc through the transfer of ECTS credits, in accordance with the national framework and the Postgraduate Programme of Study.
