At the 17th Meeting Ecology and Behaviour, held from 11 to 15 August at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (Centre national de la recherche scientifique, CNRS) in Montpellier, PhD candidate of the Department of Environment, Katerina Tasiouli presented the objectives of her doctoral thesis through a poster presentation entitled “Genomic study of the genetic structure and molecular ecology of endemic seabirds of the Mediterranean”. The PhD thesis is taking place under the supervision of Associate Professor Georgios Karris of the Department of Environment, in collaboration with the Institute of Marine Biology, Biotechnology and Aquaculture (IMBBC) of the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR).
The conference, organised by PhD students and postdoctoral researchers, focuses on topics in Ecology, Evolutionary Biology and Animal Behaviour, and reflects a new trend within the international research community towards the creation of open and accessible scientific meetings. Participation is free of registration fees, while accommodation and meals are fully covered by the organisers, thus enabling early-career researchers to present their work to an international audience and to establish the foundations for future collaborations.
More information about the research presented at the conference, including this contribution, is available in the Conference Book of Abstracts
