The Department of Environment of the Ionian University participates in the ERASMUS+ Programme (Erasmus+); participation extends to the Postgraduate Study Programmes offered by the Department either autonomously or with coordinating responsibility. Within ERASMUS +, students are provided with the opportunity to undertake studies for one to two semesters at universities within the European Union and to benefit from academic curricula offered by Institutions of Higher Education abroad, as well as acquire skills related to language acquisition, cultural familiarization and relevant educational experiences. In this context, students enrolled in the Joint Postgraduate Studies Program (J.P.S.P.) titled “New Technologies in Environmental Education and Sustainable Development,” are afforded the opportunity to acquire advanced specialization, a broadened academic perspective and international experience, qualifications that are expected to be particularly beneficial for their subsequent professional and/or academic advancement.
The Department of Environment of the Ionian University actively participates in the ERASMUS+ Programme through the following activities:
- Mobility of teaching staff for teaching and/or training purposes
- Mobility of administrative staff for training purposes
- Student mobility for studies
- Student mobility for traineeships (internships)
The period of study or training undertaken abroad is fully recognized. Student mobility may include attendance of courses/modules, preparation of the postgraduate Diploma Thesis or participation in a traineeship. Students are required to select courses with an academic workload (ECTS credits) equivalent to that of the Joint Postgraduate Study Programme (J.P.S.P.) “New Technologies for Environmental Education and Sustainable Development” during the corresponding semester, to attend classes/seminars at the host institution and participate in required assessment(s). Courses successfully completed are formally recognized and replace equivalent courses of the J.P.S.P. through the transfer of ECTS credits, in accordance with the national qualifications framework and the approved Postgraduate Study Programme.
