Katerina Kabassi - Director of the Joint  Prostgratuate Program. She is Full Professor and Member of the Board of Administration of the Ionian University. In previous years, she has served at the Ionian University in the positions of Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, International Relations and Extroversion, Dean of the School of Environment, Chair of the Department of Environment, Head of Departments at the Technological Educational Institute of the Ionian Islands, etc. In 1999, she received her degree in Informatics, and in 2003 she defended her doctoral dissertation in the same department and was awarded her PhD with the grade “Excellent.” Her research work has been published in 60 articles in reputable international scientific journals and includes more than 110 publications in edited volumes, international and national scientific conferences, as well as Greek scientific journals. Her work is internationally recognized; she has an h-index of 23 and is included in Stanford University’s World’s Top 2% Scientists list. She has participated in more than 450 scientific conference committees as a member or reviewer and serves as a reviewer for 74 scientific journals. Her research interests include the development of intelligent systems for the environment, culture, and tourism; the development of personalized and educational software; mobile software technologies; and, more broadly, cultural software technologies.


Andreas Giannakoulopoulos is the Dean of the Faculty of Music and Audiovisual Arts, and Professor and former Chair of the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University, where he teaches courses related to Internet communication and Web technologies. He holds a degree in Economics, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Communication and Mass Media from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, a postgraduate degree in Logic from the University of Amsterdam, and a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with his dissertation focusing on Web accessibility. His published work concentrates on issues of usability and accessibility, the use of the Internet in education, and online communication. In parallel, he has extensive applied work in creative design and the development of web applications and content management systems. His research interests include contemporary trends in interaction design, hypertext theory, forms of intermediality, and information architecture.


Dionysios Koulougliotis is Full Professor at the Department of Environment of Ionian University. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Yale University-USA (1995). He holds two B. Sc. degrees, namely Physics (1989) and Economics (2013), from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens-Greece. He has worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Florence-Italy (Marie-Curie Fellow, 1995-98), at NSCR “DEMOKRITOS”-Greece (Marie-Curie Fellow, 1998-99) and at Berlin Technical University-Germany (2002-03). His current research interests include Education of Physical and Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Development. He is the (co-)author of 47 scientific publications in journals (January 2026), which have received significant recognition from other researchers (Scopus h-index: 20).

Agnes Papadopoulou is an Associate Professor in the Department of Audio & Visual Arts at the Ionian University, Greece. Her research interests encompass Art Didactics, Art and Technology in Education, Technoethics, Aesthetics and Philosophy of Art, Philosophical Issues in Ecology. Her work explores the philosophical understanding of nature, ecology, and the human-environment relationship. She serves as the Academic Coordinator of the Pedagogical Sufficiency Program in the Department of Audio & Visual Arts, Chair of the Equal Access Committee of the Ionian University, and Academic Coordinator of the Psychological and Counseling Support Center of the Ionian University. Her publications focus on the intersection of art and technology, the creation of narratives through new media, and the role of the arts and technology in educational practice. She has authored five (5) monographs and provided forewords for numerous books. Her record includes 14 publications in international journals and over 85 presentations at international conferences, symposia, and festivals. She participates in international scientific collaborations, including a joint proposal submission with the School of Art (San Antonio, Texas).


Konstantinos Poirazidis is Full Professor in the Department of Environment, School of Environment, Ionian University. He earned his BSc from the Department of Forestry and Natural Environment at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (1989) and his PhD from the Department of Biology at the same university (2003). His doctoral dissertation focused on zoology, wildlife ecology, mapping, and the ecological analysis of protected areas. He previously served as a lecturer under Presidential Decree 407/1980 at Democritus University of Thrace in Orestiada. Since 2008, he has been a permanent member of staff at the Department of Environment in Zakynthos. His research interests include ecological assessment and geospatial modelling, landscape structure, wildlife trend analysis, scientific monitoring methods, ecotourism development, protected-area zoning, and ecosystem services. As of February 2026, he has published 55 peer-reviewed articles (cumulative impact factor: 78; Scopus h-index: 22; >1,500 citations), 16 book chapters, and more than 50 conference papers. He has also contributed to more than 35 national and international projects in environmental management and spatial analysis.
